For three days, from February 5-7, three surveyors team of the Hospital Accreditation Commission (KARS) conducted checks and assistance to test the feasibility and service standards of the Surya Medika PKU Muhammadiyah Hospital in Sumbawa. For the first time, the hospital, under the direct management of the University of Muhammadiyah Malang (UMM), was accredited to test eligibility before moving on to accreditation status as a Plenary hospital.
Director of Surya Medika Sumbawa Hospital, dr. Yogi Triatmakusuma explained that even though it is onlya year, this public health service hadaclinical services and had been prepared from the beginning to be a hospital. Yogi is optimistic that Surya Medika Hospital can get a Full Accreditation. Another reason was because UMM fully supported it by providing special assistance from the UMM Hospital medical team in Malang, East Java.

Of all the prerequisites needed to carry out the title as a Plenary Hospital, Surya Medika Hospital Sumbawa has fulfilled all aspects. Even when it was first launched in 2019, the hospital was the first to have ultrasound or ultrasonography services in Sumbawa. In addition, this hospital also features integrated check-up services in one package. Facilities for eye surgery are also very adequate and are classified as the most recent and sophisticated.

The motto of this 13 poly hospital is "Your Best Experience". Yogi explained that so far,many patients who come to the hospital mostly get a not memorable experience. "Now, at Surya Medika Sumbawa Hospital, we want to provide services that give a positive impression. It means, when you enter the hospital in a state of illness and go home in a healthy state which is positive," said Yogi on Wednesday (5/2).

UMM Vice Rector II Dr. Nazaruddin Malik, M.Si while accompanying the accreditation process explained that the Surya Medika Hospital in Sumbawa belongs to the Muhammadiyah Association. But in terms of its management, Muhammadiyah Central Leadership directly appointed UMM together with the Sumbawa Muhammadiyah Regional Leadership. "Whatever the results of the assessment will be accepted as a motivation to keep providing the best," said Nazaruddin.
In its construction process, the hospital is also based on the sincerity of donors who have given up some of their assets to be represented for the realization of the health facilities owned by the people, so that the intention to open the access ofhealth services for the poor can be maintained. Head of the surveyor team Dr. Dedy Krisnanto, Sp.An. appreciate the enthusiasm of the Surya Medika Hospital, which is still young, but dares to apply for this accreditation. (joh)
