In Indonesia, nasopharyngeal cancer (Nasopharyngeal Carcinoma) or malignant abnormal cell growth that appears in the nasopharyngeal area (the area above the throat and above the nose), is the 4th most common cancer after breast, cervical and lung cancers. Not just heredity, other factors including Asian race, smoking and drinking alcohol habits, often consuming preservatives and grilled foods, and Epstein Barr virus infections.
A group of students from the Medical Faculty University of Muhammadiyah Malang (FK UMM) through the prescription "Kacang Mete", won 3rd Place in the Public Poster Competition in the Holistic 2019 event. Kacang Mete is the acronym of reducing grilled and preservatives food, anti-wood smoke, and wood dust, enough rest, anti-alcohol, no smoking, wear a mask while riding, consume enough fruits and vegetables with high antioxidants and regular exercise.
Holistic or Halu Oleo Scientific Competition 2019 is an annual scientific activity organized by the MRC (Medical Research Club) of the Faculty of Medicine at the University of Halu Oleo (FK UHO) which this year theme was Optimizing the Management of Ear, Nose and Throat Diseases. This competition was held at FK UHO on October 25-27 2019. The competition for state and private universities (PTN/S) was attended by all active students of S1/D3 Health Sciences.

Pascal Maulana Efendi, Yusfiana Zura Aniqah, and Hayin Nada Nabilah, all of whom chose the public poster competition. The three of them took the title Prevent Ca Nasofaring with "Kacang Mete". The public poster passed the 10 best posters which were then presented at FK UHO Kendari. The presentation concept that was presented was the drama of the farmer and his wife to explain the symptoms and risk factors for their occurrence, supplemented by the appearance of a doctor who explained the cause until the prevention.
The preparations made by Pascal and his friends were facilitated by LSO Scientific Medico (SM) in the form of poster manufacturing training. After passing the preliminary round, SM provided internal judging training in preparation for the public poster presentation. "Alhamdulillah, I am satisfied. A lot of new knowledge and experience and also a lot of learning from the appearance of other delegations can be a new input for us in following the next competition," said Pascal. (joh)
