A total of eight Paratroopers took part in the opening ceremony of the New Student Study Introduction (Pesmaba) 2019 in the Helipad Campus III field of the University of Muhammadiyah Malang (UMM). First Air Marshal Hesly Paat, Commander of the Air Force Base (Danlanud) Air Force Abdulrachman Saleh, was given the honour of being lined up as inspector of the opening ceremony.
The eight professional Paratroopers from the Air Force Abdulrachman Saleh were Lettu Pas Archie Arpega, Serma Supriyadi, Serka Agus W, Serka Dahwit, Kopda Jainu, who were from the Command Battalion 464 Paskhas and Sertu Edi Gusyono, Serda Ari Pujo, and Serda Agung Prayitno from Denmatra 2 Paskhas, who became the parachutist at the opening ceremony.

"I congratulate the new UMM students because the predicate of students is a pride. On the other hand, independence and maturity must be possessed in order to realize the ideals of being a useful scholar for yourself, family, religion and country in the future, "Hesly Paat said in his address during the ceremony.
In front of 7611 new students and 93 foreign students from 24 countries, UMM Rector and staff, and also the UMM Academic Community, four of the eight Paratroopers successfully flew the Saka Merah Putih and decorated the sky around the White Campus. Besides that, they brought also the congress flag, UMM flag, and Pesmaba the flag.

"This is the purpose that we want to create so that the generation that enters into new students, must respond differently from the previous generation. They are the millennial generation, who will live in the world of technology. Therefore, we have prepared a mind-set change for all UMM residents to welcome it. "Said Dr. H. Fauzan, M.Pd when met after the ceremony.
The event was continued with the reception of the Opening of Pesmaba at UMM Dome Hall. The event was filled with scientific speeches by the Chairman of the Muhammadiyah Central Dr. K.H. Haedar Nashir, M.Si., and was attended by the Chairperson of the UMM Daily Board of Trustees who was also a Member of the Presidential Advisory Council of the Republic of Indonesia Prof. Drs. H. A. Malik Fadjar, M.Sc., also Minister of Education and Culture of the Republic of Indonesia Prof. Dr. Muhadjir Effendy, MAP. (Win)
