UMM Lecturer Chosen as Chair of Two Health Organizations

Dr. dr. Febri Endra Budi S, MKes, lecturer at the Faculty of Medicine (FK) University of Muhammadiyah Malang (UMM) was elected as the chairperson of the Cooperation Body of Public Health Sciences Preventive Medicine Community Medicine Division Faculty of Medicine in Indonesia (BKS IKMIKKIKP) and the Association of Community Medical Doctors and Indonesian Public Health (PDK3MI).

Febri was elected at the National Consultation VI BKS IKM / IKK / IKP National Congress V PDK3MI and the National Symposium on Public Health 2019 which lasted for two days (26-27 / 11) at the Atria Hotel in Malang.

"So the BKS IKMKKIKP and PDK3MI are the two big organizations in the field of Medicine which at this event were finally united. After being appointed by the Indonesian Medical Association (PB IDI) Executive Board, we will unify the vision of the two organizations. After that, we will improve organizational functions so that our presence will be more useful in the health sector, especially in Indonesia, "said dr. Febri when he was met on the side-lines of the activity.

In addition, according to Dr. Febri, as part of the Ministry of Health, the roles of Promote (Health Promotion / Counseling) and Preventive health (Prevention in health problems) should be developed without leaving the Curative (Treatment / Service) and Rehabilitative (Control / Return) roles.

The National Conference and Congress were attended by the chairperson of the BKS IKMIKKIKP namely Dr. dr. Herqutanto, MPH., MARS., Sp.DLP. and PDK3MI Secretary-General Dr. Arif Alamsyah, MARS. There were 54 Faculty of Medicine in Indonesia, both public and private, present. These included the North Sumatra Islamic University, Lampung University, Jakarta YARSI University, Yogyakarta Muhammadiyah University, Hasanuddin University and Nusa Cendana Kupang University.

"Hopefully this National Symposium provides enlightenment and insight to us because inevitably we have to do it. So that there is no need to overlap the functions of Community Health centres (Puskesmas) and Hospitals that lead to public health, "said Dr. dr. Meddy Setiawan, Sp.PD Dean of FK UMM in his speech.
