The Faculty of Teacher Training and Education (FKIP) of the University of Muhammadiyah Malang (UMM) held a national level of Video Blog (VLOG) competition. In addition to taking cash, certificates and trophies, the competition also foughtthe trophy of the Minister of Education and Culture of the Republic of Indonesia.
This competition was held to give a forum for the millennial generation in developing the potential contained in themselves especially in the world of making interesting videos like VLOG. As we know, currently video blogs were being favoured by millennial. Seeing this phenomenon, FKIP UMM tried to take advantage of this momentum to develop creativity in making a video blog which this time was themed "My Teacher My Idol"
The selection of the theme "My Teacher My Idol" was not without reason. My Teacher My Idol held by FKIP UMM was a campaign to develop character and movement to appreciate the services of Indonesian teachers as the front guard in realizing quality improvement in Education. This activity was very important because lately there had been symptoms and behaviours that lead to disrespect for teachers which was in the form of violence against teachers and even violence that eliminates lives.
"My Teacher My Idol has a mission to restore the position of the Teacher which is Javanese philosophy means digugu lan ditiru. A teacher is a figure who must be 'dignified' meaning obeyed or heard and 'imitated' which means worthy of emulation," said M. Yunus Prasetya as Public Relations and Publications.

Teacher, continued Yunus, is not only a smart person and teacher in the learning space. Teachers can be interpreted as people who teach everything, even if it's only one letter. Beneficial experiences that are able to teach ourselves to be better can also be called as teachers.
"The profession of a teacher is a respected profession. The teacher should occupy high social strata, even when he retires. He or she is considered an all-knowing figure and a place to ask questions. The teacher is also considered a noble figure and plays an important role in educating the nation's children. Without the teacher, there will be no progress of the nation, "said Yunus.
The national vlog competition competes for two categories, namely the category of students (high school level) and also general categories. The time limitation is still quite long which is until July 15th.
