FPP Imparting Nationalism Trough Country Defense Training and Education

In order to train the fighting and discipline spirit, Faculty of Agriculture and Animal Husbandry (FPP) University of Muhammadiyah Malang (UMM) hold a Country Defense Training and Education for their new students 2019. Collaborating with Rindam V Brawijaya, this agenda held for one week.

Rivana Alsya Farrizqi, the new student of agro-technology showed her joy after the agenda. “This is a meaningful lesson”, she said. For seven days in a camp (8-14 September), she felt comfortable because it can built the intimate between her friends. Even though they prohibited to bring any communication device, intense communication with their friends makes Rivana happy.

"We wantour new students to have a solid mental foundation," said Dr., Ir. David Hermawan, M.P., IPM, FPPDeanwhen asked to be the closing ceremony inspector. He also invited their students to continue to be aware of the real conditions in the agriculturalarea. According to him, Indonesia became one of the three countries that able to provide massive food along with Congo and Brazil.

However, according to him, there are still many injustices happened in the world of agriculture and animal husbandry in general. "Explore the knowledge as deep as possible, take all the existing knowledge of UMM then go back to the village and strengthen the great national food security," he said. According to him, FPP students have a big role in the development of Indonesia through agriculture and animal husbandry.

David hopes State Defense Training and Education can instilltheir spirit of nationalism. This is none other to strengthen the purpose oflearning is to prosperIndonesia together.

In line with David, Colonel Inf. Dendi Suryadi, S.H., M.H. said if he was very happy to see the bright face of the students after the training was finished. "I saw the face of a future leader," he said to the FPP students.

He asks the students to keep on maintaining the good habits they have learned during the training. Mainly the prayer. At the end of the speech he also did not forget to remind the students to remember God in every struggle they face. "Don't forget to remember God," he said. (joh)
