INKINDO East Java region specifically invited the Professional Engineer Department Program of the University of Muhammadiyah Malang (PS PPI UMM) in the Board of Management Meeting on Tuesday, December 17, 2019 at the Novotel Samator Hotel - Surabaya. On this occasion, PS PPI UMM was given the opportunity to explain the implementation of the Professional Engineer Program at UMM.
From the results of these activities, the two parties agreed to collaborate on the acceleration of PS PPI for the management and members of the East Java Region INKINDO on PS PPI UMM.
The collaboration was followed by a friendly visit to the UMM campus (10/1) and was welcomed directly by the UMM Rector. On this occasion, the signing of the memorandum of understanding on the acceleration of the professional profession program for PS PPI UMM was also signed. The signing was carried out by Ir. Adi Prawito, MM., MT. As the Chairman of the Board of Governors of East Java Province and Dr. Fauzan, M.Pd as the UMM Rector.

"This evidence shows that INKINDO East Java Region and UMM want to contribute in producing reliable and knowledgeable human resources in the field of engineering in accordance with the mandate of Law Number 11 of 2014," said the Chairman of PP PPI, Faculty of Engineering (FT) UMM, Annisa Kesy Garsidek .
UMM is one of the tertiary institutions that has the mandate to organize the Professional Engineer Study Program. UMM obtained permission to open PS PPI based on Decree of the Minister of Research, Technology and Higher Education Republic of Indonesia Number 200 / KPT / I / 2017 dated March 27, 2017.
PS PPI UMM aims to support the program of the Government of the Republic of Indonesia in meeting the needs of engineering professional personnel in accordance with the mandate of Law Number 11 of 2014 concerning Engineering. Pursuant to Articles 10 and 11 of Law No. 11 of 2014 concerning Sovereignty, everyone who intends to carry out the Practice of Conventions in Indonesia must have an Engineer Registration Certificate (STRI) issued by the Indonesian Engineers Association (PII).
"To obtain the STRI, the person is required to have a Professional Engineer (Ir) degree and an Engineer Competency certificate. After making an agreement, we have already taken action. There are more than 40 people who registered inthis semester engineer profession,” continued Annisa. (joh)
