The film entitled "Sinyal Nol Biji Nol" by students of the University of Muhammadiyah Malang (UMM) was named the Selected Film at the 2020 Movimax Film Festival. The film made by the Gardav Pictures production house managed to set aside 17 other films that were shown on the Movimax cinema network (Movimax Dinoyo and Movimax Sarinah), November 10-14, 2020.
The 16-minute 5-second film directed by Ilham Fahmi Dzauqy features a simple premise but can raise the problems of online schools during the Covid-19 pandemic.
"Sinyal Nol Biji Nol," tells of an elementary school named Tansah (played by Muhammad Latansa), who is 12 years old. Tansah who lives in a rural area has to struggle to find an internet connection to attend an online ceremony on Indonesia's Independence Day.
The ceremony is very significant for him to get school grades. He then involved his uncle in finding an internet connection. Instead of helping, Andik's role caused other problems. But it was Andik who ended up solving the problems it caused, in an unexpected way.
The production process of "Sinyal Nol Biji Nol" involved 10 crew members and 4 actors. Seven of them are UMM students from various departments. Then the rest is Malang Raya film activists.
Apart from the Selected Film, in the Awarding Night which was held at Studio 3 Movimax Sarinah, Saturday night (11/14/2020) also crowned the main character of the film "Sinyal Nol Biji Nol," Muhammad Latansa as the Chosen Main Actor. (apg / can)
