On October 16, World Food Day was celebrated. In an effort to highlight public concern for the fruit sector as a food supporter in Indonesia, the Student Executive Board of the Faculty of Agriculture and Animal Husbandry (BEM-FPP) of the University of Muhamadiyah Malang (UMM) held an action for a free ice lolly. This ice distribution action carried the theme of local food.
"Hopefully, this action can love local products more because it can help support domestic agricultural products in helping sell products such as fruit that has become food in Indonesia," Suci said as a member of BEM FPP.
The selection of ice lolly in food products was not without cause because ice lolly made using fruits such as cantaloupe, green beans, and oranges was a local fruit that was widely planted by Indonesian farmers. Ice lolly was distributed around UMM campuses 3, such as the rector building, Gedung Kuliah Bersama (GKB) I, III, IV and students who were doing activities on campus.
The program from the Department of Action and Strategy Study (Kastrat) of BEM FPP called for inviting students, staff and academics at UMM to consume local food and reduce imports such as fast food. This action was conducted as a form of improving the quality of human resources (HR) which began from improving local Indonesian food.
Healthy food pattern was a food pattern that met the needs of individuals by providing sufficient, safe and nutritious food to implement an active life. It was including fruits, nuts, seeds, low-fat foods, sugar and salt that had been prepared as local food in Indonesia. (win)
