Winning 2 Victories, UMM Students Dominated Victory in the National Debate Competition

University of Muhamadiyah Malang (UMM) through the Student activity units of the English Debating Society International Language Forum (EDS ILF) bought two trophies at the National Debate Competition (NASTEC) season 1 held at the Pertamina State Polytechnic Hall in Malang on 23-24 Last November.

Delegations from UMM delegated 3 teams namely, Team A "Money Oriented" Erfan Kriwanto (FPP) and M. Ilham and Zulfiany Madjid (FKIP); Team B Ghozi Mubarok (FAI) Lucke Kharimah (FISIP), and Shelvi Annisa (FEB); and Team C "Boon" Wijil Danu Baskoro (FT), Nina Nurazizah (FPP) and Annisa 'Taqiyyatul Azizah (FAPSI).

Two teams from UMM successfully advanced in the semi-final round and succeeded to get Runner Up Champion and 3rd Champion. In the race for 3rd place, Team B and C were competed together in one motion, until finally Team B who successfully advanced to the Final round, and Team C must be willing to get the 3^rd place. While the C team must loose in the Octo-final round.

EDS ILF often participated in various English and Indonesian Debate competitions. In addition to this competition, several outstanding achievements were obtained, including having won 1st place at YEEC STPP in 2018, and received Runner Up in the English Debate Competition at the Naval Technology College.
