After been dreamed for so long, finally the University of Muhammadiyah Malang (UMM) has a Football Academy. The academy was launched at UMM Soccer Field on Monday (11/16). The academy which was divided into 3 age groups namely U-10 years, U-15 years, and U-18 years, was inaugurated by UMM Rector Dr. Fauzan. Each age group has a different curriculum.
"The material of the U-10 group is usually given to play soccer which makes them happy. The material for the U-15 age group is about the basic techniques of playing football. While the U-18 age group material is about basic techniques and ethics in playing soccer," said the Head of Academy Dr. Haris, SH., M.Hum. in the field.
Encouraged by the significant growth of the younger generation and seeing the development of football that continues to experience a sharp increase, UMM strives to present the emergence of young people who have the potential to gain knowledge and direct it academically in a sustainable manner. Hopefully, it can produce superior footballers.

UMM Rector Fauzan revealed that UMM has been operating at the tertiary level and has a very representative sports facility to open academies so far, especially football. "If there is a football academy activity at UMM,there will be reliable football players, which will make Indonesia proud," he said.
UMM has a jargon "From Muhammadiyah to the Nation”. At every opportunity UMM will give the best effort,UMM wants to be present in every part. How do the people of Malang in particular, and Indonesia in general, feel the impact of the University of Muhammadiyah Malang. Thus, the transformation of the Soccer School (SSB) into UMM Football Academy.
Before transforming into an Academy, SSB UMM had received many achievements. Those werethe Menpora Cup Champion in East Java (2018), the East Java Regional Champion Champion (2019), the FOSBI PAJL National Championship Champion (2019), and the National League Total Champion (2019), and many other achievements, both in the East Java region and nationally, since the UMM SSB was founded.

"The academy must have another color in the corridors of Islam and the supremacy," Fauzan said. Fauzan then hopes that from here it is also expected soccer jurisprudence will be born. Furthermore, continued Fauzan, the existence of football and its derivatives must present humanist values and the value of religiosity in the world of sports, especially in football.
The inauguration of the Football Academy was also held at the Regional 3 Final of East Java League Hizbul Wathan 2019 which brought together the Football Association of Hizbul Wathan (PS HW) UMM and PS HW Sidoarjo. The event which was attended by 12 teams from East Java was closed by the General Chairperson of the East Java Regional Lead, Dr. KH. Sa'ad Ibrahim.
"In general, this competition is intended so that Muhammadiyah can develop its campaign, especially in the world of sports. Specifically in the football world. We want that through this competition, there is a professional team of Muhammadiyah athletes who can compete in professional competitions," said Sobrun Jamil, the committee HW League 3 East Java at White Campus.
