The Seminar on Early Detection of Cervical and Breast Cancer on UMM Hospital was attended by the Minister of Health

Cervical and breast cancer is the highest cause of cancer suffered by women in Indonesia. Based on data presented by the Ministry of Health as of January 31, 2019, the number of breast cancer sufferers are42.1 per hundred thousand population, with a mortality rate of 17 per hundred thousand population. And the incidence of cervical cancer is 23.4 per hundred thousand population, with a mortality rate of 13.9 per hundred thousand population.

With the high number of that case, the Indonesian Cabinet Solidarity Era (OASE) Action Organization Advancing Sector 2, which is concerned with improving the quality of women's health, conducts Visual Inspection with Acetic Acid (IVA) examinations and Clinical Breast Examination (SADANIS) at the General Hospital of University of Muhammadiyah Malang (UMM), Friday (28/2). Minister of Health of the Republic of Indonesia Lt. Gen. (ret.) Dr. dr. Terawan Agus Putranto, Sp. Rad. (K) specifically attended to directly observe the activities participated by hundreds of participants.

"Thank you University of Muhammadiyah Malang General Hospital for providing a place for the implementation of IVA tests in the Advanced Indonesia Cabinet OASE program. From the mothers, power emerges so that this nation can be upright, besides the children can be free from stunting," Terawan said when giving a speech. Terawan was also scheduled to attend the UMM graduation ceremony period I 2020 in the Dome Hall of UMM. He was lined up to give scientific speeches in front of 977 graduated people, starting from the Diploma Level Three, as well as Strata 1, 2, and 3.

This agenda is a form of cooperation between UMM Hospital and the Advanced Indonesian Cabinet OASE, which is an organization consisting of the wives of the Advanced Indonesian Cabinet Ministers. The organization is chaired by the wife of the Coordinating Minister for Human Development and Culture of the Republic of Indonesia, Suryan Widati Muhadjir Effendi. Members of Esther Dahlia Terawan, Lilik Abdul Halim Iskandar, Kartika Conscience Basuki, Koesni Harningsih Moeldoko, and Siti Faridah Pratikno. "For sufferers of cervical cancer and breast cancer, besides suffering economic losses, it is also a loss for families. Because mothers are the center of the family," Suryan Widati Muhadjir Effendi said during the event. Seminar and examination of early detection of cervical and breast cancer itself was delivered by obstetricians at UMM General Hospital Dr. Halida Nelasari, Sp.OG. Halida invited the participants who were present at the Hall of the 5th Floor of UMM General Hospital to recognize the causal factors, symptoms of cervical and breast cancer sufferers, to explain their enumeration.
