Sociology Department at the University of Muhammadiyah Malang (UMM) was appointed as the coordinator of the Indonesian Sociology Association (ISI) for Malang Region. The inauguration was carried out by the Secretary-General of the ISI National Management (PN) Dr. Arie Sujito. Held on Tuesday (30/4) yesterday. The agenda continued with a working meeting.
PN ISI through Decree Number 01 / ISI / IV / 2019 decided Rachmad K. Dwi Susilo, MA, Ph.D., as Chair of the ISI in the Malang region for the period 2019-2022. Rachmad, who is also the Chair of the UMM Sociology Department, stated that the program to be carried out must bring benefits, especially for Sociology circles in Malang.
After a meeting forum attended by Sociologist representatives on Monday (4/22), Rachmad was elected as chairman. Besides Rachmad from UMM, there was also the name Dr. Vina Salviana DS, M, Si and Luluk Dwi Kumalasari, S.Sos., M.Sc. as Trustees.
Rachmad explained that he and ISI Malang Raya would raise awareness and audience with policymakers in incidental action programs. In addition, it also used understanding methods of Malang Region and its surroundings as an institutional collective action.
In the future, ISI Malang will hold a seminar of Malang potential exploration and publication in the form of a newsletter. Rachmad hoped that the usefulness of Sociology could be felt by the community and ISI became an effective forum to harmonize theory and practice. (Win)
