On Sunday (12/15), UMM was visited by the Employee-Lecturer Team (Kardos) of the University of Muhammadiyah Yogyakarta (UMY) to do a Friendly Match or more commonly called the Sparring of soccer and badminton. With their best squad, the UMY team brought 53 players including rector officials who also like sports. They are Dr. Nano Prawoto, SE., M.Si Vice Rector 2 who likes Badminton and Dr. Achmad Nurmandi, M.Sc., Vice Rector 5 who likes to play soccer.
"Win or lose, we play for fun. Because sports can make us happier and keep the body in shape. The important thing is to preserve friendship with others," Achmad Nurwandi said in his ceremonial greeting before the match began. He also expressed his admiration for the good and maintained sports facilities at UMM, especially the UMM soccer field with grass conditions similar to the national stadium which added enthusiasm for sports.
Meanwhile, the host, represented by Dr. Fauzan, M.Pd, said that he was delighted by the arrival of the UMY Team. "I am very happy that the presence of the UMY team at UMM. Besides to increase motivation to exercise, this is also to prove its existence that we will all be healthier if we take care of it by exercising regularly", said UMM Rector. After the greeting, each party gave a souvenir to each other as a form of appreciation for the presence and arrival of guests from the UMY team.

In the soccer sport that started with the Rector kick-off, the UMM Kardos Team succeeded in winning the match with a landslide score of 4 - 1. "We played discipline with strict marking. We master the field and games. We made the UMY team shut down during the initial 35 minutes. This completed the reply when the UMM team visited UMY who lost the same score.", Andik said as a Captain and Coordinator of kick-off Football UMM.
In the badminton, UMM also won with a score of 15 - 8. More than half of the UMM team took the victory in the badminton match which was held at GOR Tunggul Wulung. Although in the initial sets of UMM team were lost, but they were able to rise and win the match. The Baiduri / Mahfud men’s double is an old couple who started the victory of the UMM badminton team. Apparently, the victory continued to other men’s double. Like the Ridlo Andi who easily extinguished Todi / Wisnu team fight from UMY. Until the end of the UMM competition, half of the 23 doubles games were won by UMM team. (joh)
