Laboratory of THP

Laboratory of THP was built and developed in order to serve the activities of practice, research, and production analysis service. Laboratory of THP consists of Laboratory of Food Microbiology, Laboratory of Food Analysis, Laboratory of Organoleptic Test, and Engineering Food. 

The detail of functions, advantages, and the equpments that are used by each laboratory are as follow:

 

Laboratory of Food Microbiology

Laboratory of Food Microbiology deals with food processing that is related to the kinds of microbes. In order to support the activities of analyzing and identifying microbes, the equipments used are: Autoclave, Incubator, Water Shaker, Water Bath, Mikroskop, Colony Counter, Cawan Petridisk, Erlenmeyer, reaction tubes, needles ose, suction pipette, suction bulb, refrigerator, UV lamp, etc. 

 

Laboratory of Food Analysis

Laboratory of Food Analysis has cooperated with other universities or institutes to conduct analysys such as analysis of protein, moisture content, ash content, vit.C, lipid, etc from various kinds of products, starts from post-harvest until the final product. In order to support any analysis activity, this laboratory is completed with equipments such as beaker glass, analytical scales, oven, Erlenmeyer, porcelain cup, measuring cup, suction bulb, suction pipette, muflle, spectrometer, fume hood, vortex, centrifuge, pH meter, Colour Rider, HandRefractometer, Visco meter, penetrometer, flask, Labuk jedal, hot plate, desiccator, bured micro, Evaporator etc.

 

Laboratory of Organoleptic Test and Food Engineering

Laboratory of Organoleptic and Food Engineering carries out food processing activity that aims to various kinds of quality food products, such as low calorie nuts, aloe vera syrup, instant aloe vera, instant ginger, instant turmeric, apple cider, yogurt, soy milk, various kinds of fruit chips and tubers,, and to explore various substances in food to be used to be a natural BTM such as carrageenan from seaweed, chitin and chitosan from shrimp shells, kana natural dyes from flowers, roses, flower rosella, turi flower, gladiolus flowers. To support those activities, this laboratory is completed with tools such as Vacum Frying, Cabinet dryer, Press Hidrolik, Spray drayer, Oven, Vacum sealer, Freezer, gas stove and cooking tools, blender, mixer etc.
