Developed countries was not only prioritizing physical development. Human resource development must also be developed. "We have a variety of natural resources which not all countries have. Humans must be able to utilize for the progress of the country, "said Prof. Dr. H. Abdul Malik Fadjar, M.Sc., at the National Association of Indonesian Conventions for the Development of Social Sciences (HIPIIS), Wednesday (7/8) afternoon.
In the Dome Hall of the University of Muhammadiyah Malang (UMM), according to one of the pioneers of HIPIIS, it was time for Indonesia to dare to invest in the target of developing human resources (HR). This can be done by reflecting on developed countries like Singapore and Japan. These two countries clearly do not have many natural resources but were able to conquer the world. They can grow rapidly because they dared to invest heavily in HR.

The progress of major countries today was also based on the strengthening of identity which has been done through culture. "How strong Japanese culture affects the world along with the development of technological sophistication. Actually, Indonesia which has a variety of cultures has a great opportunity to be more advanced than countries which only have one type of culture, "he said before the board of HIPIIS, Social Sciences teachers in Malang, and the UMM academic community.

Physical development must be done but, continued Malik who was also the Chairperson of UMM Daily Board of Trustees, we did not forget the human resources who will carry out the development results. HIPIIS said Malik stressed, had a strategic role to contribute through the social sciences. The social diversity that exists in Indonesia was a great opportunity to reach a progressive Indonesia. Namely advanced human and developed country.
The 74th anniversary of the independence of the Republic of Indonesia (NKRI), for Malik, became the culmination point to see how great Indonesia was. The focus on developing superior human resources was appropriate if it was on the country's big agenda. "The aspiration to become a developed country and be able to maximize human resources was in sight. Hopefully, HIPIIS can continue to contribute through its ideas to create a superior Indonesia, "said Malik. (Win)
