VIVAnews - NATO agreed to put the Patriots on the Turkish border with Syria. This decision was taken to guard against possible attack Syria.
"We support Turkey with a strong spirit of solidarity," said the Secretary General of NATO, Anders Fogh Rasmussen, told Aljazeera, Tuesday, December 4, 2012.
"For anyone who wants to attack Turkey, we say, do not even think like that," Rasmussen added.
The deal was taken at a meeting of Foreign Ministers of NATO states in Brussels, Belgium, after a request from Turkey. However, NATO will not use Patriot missiles for offensive action. But only for the defense.
Turkey fears Syria for the attack is based on Syria to attack border. Syria launched an attack on the border region as suspect many Syrian opposition groups that cross into the neighboring country.
NATO also expressed support for Syria's stance Turkey IDPs. NATO asks Syria to end the violence in his country to maintain regional stability. "We fully support the efforts of the international community to find a peaceful solution," Rasmussen said.
