A total of 18 books written by Muhammadiyah members were launched on the agenda of Pimpinan Wilayah Muhammadiyah (PWM) (Trans: East Java Muhammadiyah Regional Leadership) Study at the Malang Muhammadiyah University (UMM). The books launched on March 25, 2023, are the work of the writings from some figures, both at regional and regional levels. Interestingly, the writings from the regions focus on the history of how Muhammadiyah was founded and developed.
Some of the titles include the Trilogy by Nazaruddin Malik, which consists of three books 'Connected Leadership and Collaboration', 'Execution', and 'Collaboration'. There is also 'Senyummu Senyumku' (Trans: Your Smile Is My Smile Too) by Nur Cholis Huda, Jeda Sebuah Rasa (Trans: Interlude of a Feelings) by Arunika, and a series of Muhammadiyah histories in various regions.
One of the writers, Nur Cholis Huda, said that the tradition of writing is very much alive in PWM East Java. This cannot be separated from the number of books published annually on Ramadan Discussion. However, something is exciting and different this year. That is the writing that focuses on the history of Muhammadiyah in various cities and districts.
"There is an action to write Muhammadiyah local history which is encouraged in more than 30 regions. 15 of them have finished writing and launched today. Hopefully other PDMs can follow this action and published their own soon," he said.
As for his book 'Senyummu Senyumku Juga', Cholis writes down various snippets of short events that the leaders did—from the Khufaur Rosyidin to national figures. It also contains inspiration that can be used and applied in life. For example, the story of Utsman bin Affan charity 14 centuries ago is a well that continues to flow rewards and wealth today.
Moreover, Nazaruddin's trilogy is also fascinating to read. One of them is the 'Connected Leadership' book which discusses how connected leadership practices disciplined knowledge, study, work, critical thinking, and high curiosity. It also contains what leadership myths are, reasons why we should study leadership, and more.
Two other books also supplement this book. First, a book entitled 'Collaboration' discusses the exciting point of collaboration. How can we reach goals by working together and others. While the third book, namely 'executions', discusses how to execute the strategies, improve the quality of execution, and others. (put/*will)
