Afta Gita Muhammad, a student from the Management program at Universitas Muhammadiyah Malang (UMM), has achieved significant success by winning several awards at the Ahmad Dahlan International Youth Camp held last October in Kulon Progo, Yogyakarta. He excelled in three categories: best leader, art performance, and dangdut song.

This event serves as a platform for youth from various countries to develop leadership skills, foster international collaboration, and expand their understanding of global issues. This year's theme was “Exploring Skills of Youngsters for Addressing Global Challenges,” focusing on enhancing creativity and problem-solving abilities.

Afta, as he is commonly known, expressed gratitude for the support from UMM and his mentor, Novi Puji Lestari, S.E., M.M. In the best leader category, he demonstrated effective leadership, strong communication skills, and facilitated discussions adeptly. In the art performance category, he showcased his pencak silat skills, highlighting Indonesian martial arts and culture to the other participants.

"I also fortunately secured second place in the dangdut performance with my team. Just like pencak silat, dangdut is a form of art that is synonymous with Indonesia. Thus, this was my way of introducing Indonesia to participants from other countries," he explained.

He believes that ADIYC 2024 provided him with opportunities to enhance his leadership, creativity, and teamwork skills. Additionally, it allowed him to build relationships with participants from diverse backgrounds. His success in various categories reflects his enthusiasm and competence in multiple fields, making this experience invaluable for his future development.

"This series of awards means not just a lot to me, but also for other young people. I hope that my peers can strive for excellence, generate brilliant ideas, and provide effective solutions to societal challenges. We have the energy and creativity that can help bring these visions to life," he emphasized. (*/wil/fajr)
