To facilitate the creativity and innovation of Indonesian students, American Corner (AmCor) University of Muhammadiyah Malang (UMM) held a national student science competition, which was the Youth Eco-Tech National Competition 2017. This two-day competition (7-8/9) held in cooperation with the American Embassy in Indonesia.
This competition was followed by 54 teams of High School (SMA) and Vocational High School (SMK) from many regions in Indonesian and had 11 finalist teams. The best three would be given special gift. They would be going to United States of America to join Science Tour for five days.
The first winner is SMKN 2 Koba Bangka Belitung with Magicbox Horticulture innovation, 2nd winner is SMKN 8 Malang with Automatic Plant Treatment System, and 3rd winner is SMKN 5 Surabaya with Aquaponik Aquaculture.
The staff of IRO Heru Wibowo said that this competition is very interesting because it carried the concept of environmentally friendly. The eleven finalist teams showed their works and also made a presentation about it in front of Cultural Attache US Embassy Jakarta, Karen Schinnerer.
