Quoting one of life philosophy upheld by South Korea community, the Rector of the University of Muhammadiyah Malang (UMM), Fauzan, invited all students to always excel in every occasion. According to him, the former Japanese colony still principled not to use the colonial products.
"South Korea prefer to sovereign, choose to stand alone. The motto owned by South Korean, 'If Japan beds, Korea must wake up. If Japan woke up, Korea had to walk. If Japan goes, Korea had to run. Similarly, when Japan run, then Korea had to fly, "said Fauzan when closing the Student Day activities at UMM Dome on Saturday (10/12).
In this activity, after going through the process of monitoring and evaluation of student organizations committee for the implementation of the Student Day 2016, the last two months, the university committee has set a number of the winners list. Faculty of Medicine (FK) became the first winner of organizations committee of The Best Student Day. It was followed by the Faculty of Psychology (FPSI) and the Faculty of Health (Fikes).
Fauzan asserted the implementation designed by UMM Student Day aimed to detect talent and potential that students had. "The diagnosis was meant to be used as a basis for development of interests and talents that you have had," said Fauzan.
Student Day was also intended, continued Fauzan, galvanizing UMM students to prepare themselves to be a leader, both formal and informal leaders. "Because the Student Day we pack is a series that not only transfer activity knowledge-oriented skills, but also this activity is also to deliver student to have a character, and are expected to be a leader who has character," said Fauzan.
Although the ceremonial execution Student Day closed, Fauzan hoped that, students’ achievement should not have to stop there. "Be a student who always excel," Fauzan message.
At the same time, it was also announced management competition categories which crowned Student Activity Unit (UKM) student regiment as the first champion. In the next position. In the 2nd place, achieved by the Student Association Accounting as well as in the 3rd position achieved by the Faculty Senate (Sefa) and the Student Executive Board (BEM) Faculty of Social and Political Sciences (Social).
In addition, it was announced the category winners of UKM Implementing the best Student Day. Scouts was in the first position, Student Regiment was in the 2nd and 3rd position achieved by Division of Mahasiswa Pecinta Alam (DIMPA). Each winner received a certificate and a cash award in the form of coaching.
Reflexion song "Dia" brought Rector UMM marked the closing event of Student Day 2016, which has been held since 10 October. In addition to "Dia", the Rector also specifically brought the song "Malam Terakhir" by inviting female student to sing with him on stage. (Can / han)
