Muslims are encouraged to multiply Takbeer whenever and wherever possible on the eve of Eid al-Fitr and Eid al-Adha. This moment is usually done in many ways, from chanting takbir at home and mosque. In fact, we often find takbiran on the streets using loudspeakers mounted on cars while driving around.
This caught the attention of Muhammad Arif Zuhri, Lc, M.H.I., the Head of the Department of Islamic Family Law, Faculty of Islamic Studies, University of Muhammadiyah Malang (UMM). He explained that, in general, this traveling takbeer is permissible. This activity is part of worldly muamalah and contains broadcasts that become a means of preaching.

"In the past, when Ibn Umar, a companion of the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH), departed from home to the place of Eid al-Fitr or Eid al-Adha prayers, he always loudened the recitation of takbir on the way," explained Arif.
However, the change depends on the local area's implementation procedures, conditions, and situations. If the traveling takbir using loudspeakers is considered to be disturbing the environment and endangering others, then it is not allowed.
"For example, in my hometown, this mobile takbeer has become a tradition and is even contested between mosques. The competition is organized by the local government and guarded by security forces. Even the community looks enthusiastic and watches this traveling takbeer competition," he said.

Of course, activities like this must have precise implementation techniques so that the event runs in a structured and conducive manner. Don't let this good moment take its toll.
Takbeer using loudspeakers must also pay attention to the surrounding environment. See if it is good or even disturbs other residents. Of course, the festivities of Eid al-Adha and Eid al-Fitr must be celebrated but still pay attention to the prevailing norms.
"If it is done in an orderly manner, paying attention to the time of implementation, the environment and the technical implementation, then it is valid to be carried out. For the benchmark time of takbir Eid al-Fitr, it starts from the beginning of Eid al-Fitr, namely maghrib time, until the Eid prayer is performed. So that after the Eid prayer is performed, there is no need for congregational takbir in each mosque," Arif explained. (imh/dev/wil)
