The University of Muhammadiyah Malang (UMM) encourages its academics to feel the international atmosphere on campus. One of them is the presence of global corners such as the Aussie Banget Corner (ABC), American Corner, and China Corner. Last Thursday (31/3), the Australian Consulate-General (Consul General) visited the White Campus, Fiona Hoggart. He also called ABC, which has been at UMM for a long time, a place to get to know Australia.
Fiona, her nickname, revealed that she was happy to be able to visit and mingle with UMM academics. According to him, ABC is one of the strategic places students can visit to learn more about Australia. She also considered that there would be many possible collaborations, both with the White Campus and with other Indonesian parties.
"Besides that, I also hope to establish deep cooperation with various universities in Indonesia, especially East Java," she said when he was present at Rayz Hotel UMM.
Fiona is also ready to collaborate in absolute terms and find international partners for the World Business Industry (DUDI) to develop the UMM Center of Excellence. One of the ongoing research is the development of dairy cattle feed in the Ngantang area.
Meanwhile, the Chancellor of UMM, Dr. Fauzan, M.Pd., said that the visit was a strategic matter. He hopes to follow up a series of activities with an objective and measurable plan. Moreover, seeing the potential of universities in the two countries, there is no need to doubt. Fauzan is sure that there will be many things that we can do together.
He considered that the collaboration would encourage the achievement of progress and targets for higher education in each country. Likewise, they will realize the increasing speed of internationalization in each university.

Previously, UMM had also collaborated with the Australian Consul General in research on developing a cattle feed factory. The International Relation Office (IRO) UMM secretary, Dr. Ir. Listiari, MP. that an Australian company, plans to open an animal feed factory in East Java. Then, UMM became a place to visit to discuss and research.
"Moreover, they consider that Indonesia's molasses, one of the raw materials, is one of the best," she added.
Furthermore, Listiari also considered that this could be an opportunity for students to do internships. Mainly in implementing the Merdeka Learning Campus Merdeka (MBKM), which the government promotes. There will be more opportunities, and students can feel like working in a foreign company. (apg/wil)
