Government Science Department (IP) University of Muhammadiyah Malang (UMM) was making efforts to accelerate go international. One of the efforts made was to collaborate with Khon Kaen University (KKU), Thailand, Tuesday (8/1), at the UMM Gedung Kuliah Bersama (GKB) I.
This collaboration was the Student Exchange. Students who take part in the program will study for 4 months. They will learn about the Indonesian government system and the East Javanese culture. From the UKK, there were 4 students who had the opportunity to study at the UMM IP Department.
They were Kanarwut Duangin, Mintra Wongwirat, Sittisak Kaeothanmanukun and Suparom Wongracha. According to Kanarwut Duangin, this program gave him the opportunity to get to know Indonesia more closely, as well as learn culture outside Thailand. "I am happy to be able to short course in Indonesia," he said.
Before officially participating in the entire program, the Thai students were welcomed by the Dean of Social Sciences, Dr. Rinikso Kartono, M.Sc in the UMM Faculty of Social Sciences Seminar Room. In his speech, Rinikso introduced the atmosphere of the scope of UMM which would be a place of learning during the program.
Head of IP Study Program, Salahudin, S.IP, M.Sc, M.PA. explained that the collaboration between UMM and KKU would be further strengthened by collaborative research collaboration. This was a concrete step for the IP Department to go international. IP UMM also sent 6 of its best students to this Student Exchange Program.
"UMM students also studied at Khon Kaen University in Thailand for one semester," he said after the event. Salahudin hoped that with the presence of this program IP students would be able to study the learning system abroad. So that it will support a better learning process in the future. (Win)
