YPAC children are very active when they receive a visit from the White Campus team |
University of Muhammadiyah Malang (UMM) is always committed to spreading benefits and helping others. Recently, the White Campus team invited the children of the Malang Disabled Child Development Foundation (YPAC) to take a walk around the city. Followed by a series of entertainment, watching movies together, handing over donations and children's toys, and fairy tales, playing fun games and breaking fast together last Saturday (23/4).
YPAC children were also invited to take a bus through the Square, Town Hall, and Velodrome to Rampal field. They looked enthusiastic and often asked the students who were the guides. Interestingly, there were several foreign students from the White Campus who participated to help and entertain.
Also on the agenda, the White Campus gave donations and a box of toys. Then closed the day by breaking the fast with the residents of YPAC Malang.
The event coordinator, M. Isnaini, M.Pd. said that this event was a "debt" that had not been carried out in 2018. At that time, the UMM team visited and asked the YPAC children what they wanted to achieve.
“Then many of them want to get around the city by riding a bus and see interesting things that they rarely see outside. Had been constrained by the pandemic, Alhamdulillah, their simple dream of getting the White Campus was granted in 2022," he said.
Krisna, his nickname, continued that the White Campus team deliberately invited foreign students to participate. This is felt to increase the sense of caring and humanity. Although still limited by the existing language barrier.
“Here are some foreign friends who have just arrived and learned Indonesian. His vocabulary is still limited, but not at all limited to spreading happiness and smiles with YPAC friends," added the UMM Indonesian Lecturer.
However, his collaboration and agenda will always be carried out by the White Campus in the future. Not only at YPAC, but also in a number of other institutions as a form of community service that UMM strives for.
Meanwhile, the Chairman of the YPAC Malang Foundation, Iswahyudi Budi Susetya, said that his party had just opened a visit. Previously, YPAC did not receive visits because it was still in a pandemic situation and the transmission rate was high.
Yudi, as he is usually called, admitted that usually many students took the time to come. Playing with the YPAC brothers and singing together. He is also grateful that there are still many people who pay attention to this foundation, one of them is UMM. “The White Campus has been wanting to stop by and take the younger siblings around the city for a long time. Thank God it can be done this afternoon, "said the man from Malang.
Yudi also emphasized that YPAC, which was founded in 1955, belongs to the community. He was very grateful to the donors who gave many things to the residents. Coupled with the number of social workers who help carry out daily activities.
“We certainly accept all assistance as long as it is useful for the brothers and sisters here. We also hope that YPAC Malang is able to run independently," concluded Yudi. (Wil)
