Prepare a generation of true ideological statesmen and digital technology literacy, the Pancasila and Citizenship Education Study Program (PPKN) of Universitas Muhammadiyah Malang (UMM) held a guest lecture, December 4, 2024. The event featured Dr. Iim Siti Masyitoh, M.Si., an expert in PKN and ethnopedagogy, as the keynote speaker.
She explained the formulation related to the attachment aspects of broad access to information and active participation of digital citizens. These are the two main things in exploring the digitalization era. Thus, there are various skills that need to be honed in facing the new digital era of the 21st century as a true statesman.These skills are not only crucial for the younger generation but also for society as a whole.

According to him, academics must equip students to participate in a responsible digital world armed with good skills. For example, critical problem-solving skills and creativity that characterize the uniqueness of each person. In addition, the spiritual aspect also has an important place in maintaining the balance of life. Humans as monopluralist beings, the development of body and soul is inseparable and interdependent.
"Additionally, it is essential to develop literacy," she stated. "Digital literacy encompasses information literacy, media literacy, and technological literacy. Likewise, fostering independence and the ethical use of technology are also integral to being prepared for competition."
On the other hand, Dr. Leni Anggraeni, M.Pd. highlighted how to prevent radicalism and disinformation in the digital era. Leni revealed that the anatomy of disinformation has its own pattern. Petitions that appear are not all true and the potential for manipulation of sentiments related to petitions is very possible in the digital era.
"The nature of media is inherently one-directional. This makes the exposure to false visual content (hoaxes) highly likely," she remarked. "Therefore, it's crucial to compare one piece of information with another. Counter-media efforts are necessary to balance misleading informative algorithms. Staying silent only leaves us with less accurate information and more misinformation," she emphasized.
The Vice Dean III of the Faculty of Teacher Training and Education (FKIP) at UMM, Bayu Hendro Wicaksono, M.Ed., Ph.D., highly appreciated the guest lecture. He described it as an excellent academic initiative that aligns well with the PPKN program. According to him, this innovation provides new insights for all students, paving the way for advancements in campus education.

We are now living in a new era characterized by Volatility, Uncertainty, Complexity, and Ambiguity (VUCA), where conditions are unpredictable, fast-paced, complex, and highly dynamic. Amid the rapid advancements in digitalization, it is crucial for society to remain steadfast in upholding the foundational ideologies of the Indonesian nation.
"PPKN is the foundation of the nation, and more than that, it is essential for building a strong civilization in the progress of our homeland. My children, let us unite our determination, so we can step confidently into the new world while staying true to the fundamental ideologies of our nation," he continued. (din/wil/ind)
