The Deputy Minister of Higher Education, Science, and Technology of Indonesia, Prof. Dr. Fauzan, M.Pd., delivered words of motivation to thousands of students at the University of Muhammadiyah Malang. His presence served as a source of inspiration at the opening of UMM Student Day on November 9. This also marked Prof. Fauzan's first return to UMM since being appointed as Deputy Minister. Previously, he served as the Rector of UMM from 2016 to 2024.

He also emphasized the importance of joining organizations and managing one's ego while navigating both student life and professional careers. The ability to control one's ego helps individuals approach challenges with greater wisdom. He also shared that his achievements were greatly influenced by his time at UMM. The university's independent and diverse programs successfully caught the attention of the President of Indonesia, who is known for his solution-oriented and independent mindset.
"Directly, Mr. Prabowo was interested in the programs run by UMM. In addition, to serve its students, UMM emphasizes three key competencies: academic competence, entrepreneurship, and leadership," he said.
According to him, there are two key indicators for achieving success. The first key is to stay focused on the goal you want to achieve. The second is not to easily complain about the challenges you encounter. "My dear students, pursue your dreams with focus. Avoid complaining about the obstacles that are commonly encountered along the way. Let us use our time for introspection as capital to carve out an even better journey ahead," he advised.
