UMM Cultural Institute (LK) holds Batik training for lecturers and staffs to increase Human Resources of University of Muhammadiyah Malang. This event will be holding for two days (13-14/2) at UMM Basement Dome.
This training is intended for lecturers in order to have another skill except teaching. This is stated by Dr.Daroe Iswatiningsih,M.Si as the Head of LK UMM at the opening ceremony. She said, “This event is held to increase the competency in Batik, So people of UMM will be able to make batik”.
Furthermore, the participants will get certificate of ToT (Training of Trainer) from LK UMM. It is expected that they can be a Batik tutor if they are needed. Daroe said, “They will be qualified as batik trainers.” This training is also to develop education values, recreation, and economy.
The trainer of this training is Belinda Dwi Regina who is a lecturer of Primary School Teacher Education (PGSD) of UMM and was graduated from State University of Surabaya majoring in arts. Before practicing, Belinda explained some introductory materials.
Erna Retna Rahadjeng who is a lecturer of Management study program, Faculty of Business and Economics, joins this event. She said that she wants to run a Batik business. She said, “I am very happy. I hope that I can run a Batik business someday”. (lus)
