Age does not define capability or competence. This is exemplified by Lutfitunnada Purwaningrum, an alumna of the Government Science (IP) program at University of Muhammadiyah Malang (UMM). Despite her young age, she has built a successful political career, securing a seat as a member of the Ogan Komering Ilir (OKI) Regency DPRD, South Sumatra, through the National Awakening Party (PKB). Her growing public trust was reaffirmed by her re-election for a second term in the 2024 elections.

Since her college years, 29-year-old Nada has been known as an active student, participating in various academic and organizational activities. Her interest in government and politics drove her to engage in social and youth initiatives. These experiences became valuable assets that paved the way for her political career, ultimately leading to her success as a people's representative at a young age.

In an interview, Nada acknowledged that politics is a challenging arena, especially for young women. “Many doubted my abilities when I first ran for office. However, I believe that hard work, commitment, and good intentions will lead to success. Moreover, the knowledge and experience I gained as a student at IP UMM have been invaluable,” she said.

In addition to her political career, Nada is also a mother of one. She emphasizes the importance of balancing personal life with her responsibilities as a council member. For her, serving as a representative of the people is a significant mandate that must be fulfilled with full dedication. At the same time, she remains committed to her role as a mother, believing that both responsibilities are equally important and complementary. Nada’s achievement as a DPRD member at a young age serves as an inspiration for young people and UMM alumni, especially those aspiring to careers in government and politics.

The Head of the UMM Government Science (IP) Study Program, Muhammad Kamil, S.IP., M.A., expressed his appreciation for Nada's achievement. He shared his pride in seeing IP UMM alumni successfully competing in the political arena and making meaningful contributions to society. Nada is a testament to the high competence and competitiveness of IP UMM graduates.
