The Hard work of Shofiyah Nur Yustina, a Management Department student at the University of Muhammadiyah Malang (UMM) practised Karate about 8 to 10 hours every day, paid off with gold at the 2019 International Cup in Italy.
Shofiyahand her team won the Kata title in the team category. This international level event held by Shotokan Karate-Do International Federation (SKIF) added to UMM's record of achievement at the global level.
The victory key of Shofiyah and her team, on January 24, was the unyielding practice. The exercise was considered a real match. Thus, the persistence of Shofiyah in Karate cannot be doubted.
For three months, Shofi intensely trained by doing a training center. The aim was to increase grade and Karate techniques. She admitted, the Netherlands, Japan and of course the host of Italy became the toughest opponent.
Shofiyahand her team from Indonesia managed to set aside 25 other countries. Including Japan, the country where this sport was born. Even though, for Kata individual category Kata, Shofiyah was less fortunate.
Admittedly, Shofiyah demonstrated the Kata movement with a too slow tempo. Also, there was a misunderstanding of information with the committee. While in the past year, Shofiyah got 2 gold medals in kata of individual and team categories.
"Even though I didn't win in the individual category, the most important thing was that I succeeded as much as possible. I will try again on another occasion, "explained Shofiyah, preparing for another match that will be obtained in the near future.
Not satisfied competing in Italy, March 8-10, she will compete in Solo in the Southeast Asian championship. Continue again on March 25 in Jakarta during the National Championship. Certainly not to miss the event at the regional level. (Win)
