Getting Ready to Implement Higher Education Curriculum, University of Pakuan Bogor Visits UMM for Comparative Study

The meeting between Law Faculty UMM and Law Faculty UNPAK

Collaborative works between University of Muhammadiyah Malang (UMM) and other universities is getting closer. Law faculty UMM collaborates with Law faculty UNPAK (University of Pakuan Bogor). The Dean of Law faculty UMM welcomed 16 people of Law faculty UNPAK to conduct a comparative study in the Law Student Senate room UMM on Friday (9/2).

Public Relations of Faculty of Law UMM, Salahudin Al Fahd conveyed that the Dean and his people of Faculty of Law UMM welcomed the visiting of Faculty of Law UNPAK. This visiting was aimed to discuss about curriculum for Higher Education (KPT) that has been implemented by Law faculty UMM since February 2017. Salahudin said that actually there is not much differences between curriculum law faculty UMM and UNPAK. But, there is difference about final project. Thesis is the only graduation requirement from faculty of Law UNPAK, while faculty of Law UMM has imposed equivalence system for graduation. Salahudin said, “This equivalency system makes students possible to change thesis into indexed scientific journal”.

Secretary of Quality Assurance Faculty of Law UNPAK, Nazarudin Latif conveyed that the purpose of this comparative study is not only to keep the spirit of brotherhood among members of the Association of Law Higher Education Leaders of Indonesia (APPTHI), but also to prepare the renewal of academic curriculum in Faculty of Law UNPAK in 2018 like UMM did. Nazarudin said, “We also plan to hold an international seminar in September”.

Nazarudin hopes that Law Faculty of both universities can run many more cooperation. He said, “I hope that UNPAK and UMM can cooperate in wider fields such as exchange student or international seminars”. (lus)
