The academic staff of the University of Muhammadiyah Malang constantly fulfil three obligations of a university as done by the lecturer team led by Wildan Suharso, M. Kom. The group helped a small-scale herb enterprise in Sidodadi, Lawang, through the Community Program Partnership (Translated: Program Kemitraan Masyarakat (PKM)) by the Ministry of Education, Culture, Research, and Technology. The community service is scheduled within one year, in 2022.

Wildan, his familiar nickname, mentioned that the community service activity is digitalising instant herb selling using social media and website training. The lecturers equipped and trained the sellers regarding the sale of herbs through digitalisation so that it could spread through social media, websites, or other digital software.

“We, firstly, visited and observed them. After obtaining sufficient data, we did product packaging and branding training and created a website for the herb sellers' group. We also taught them how to maximise the use of website and social media to grow their business,” he uttered.

On the other hand, the head of the herb sellers’ group of D’lima, Titik Wahyuno, perceives that the program helps him and his team members. They feel grateful to gain new skills to increase their income. Production quality and the number of sellers also improved due to the training conducted by UMM, as Titik and his team feel.

He added, “I think many parties need a program like this one. It is not only about the producer and the herb sellers, but also it is expected to be able to target other sectors to enhance the economy and income. We express our appreciation and gratitude to the team of UMM who has worked hard to share us their knowledge.”

The herb sellers’ group was named D’lima because it only consisted of five people the first time it was established. Though it changed its name several times, Titik Wahyuni is still entrusted to be the head of the group. It is because of his zestful spirit to produce herbs and manage the herb enterprises.
