Romil explained that the forum brought together 67 students from various universities, including delegates from OIC member countries. With the theme "The OIC's Responsibility Through the Youth Role in Promoting Interfaith Dialogue," the forum focused on the importance of interfaith dialogue in fostering global peace and understanding. Participants engaged in constructive discussions and debates, gaining deeper insights into the OIC's diplomatic mission.
He continued, explaining that MOIC is a diplomacy simulation that replicates the dynamics of official OIC meetings, where participants represent delegates of OIC member states. They discuss global issues such as peace, interfaith dialogue, education, and economic development. The forum aims to introduce young people to the organizational workings of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) while deepening their understanding of the global challenges facing the Islamic world.
The forum highlighted the strategic role of youth in promoting interfaith dialogue as a means to foster global harmony. Participants also received training to sharpen their diplomatic skills, which are expected to be applied in addressing various global challenges in the future.
Furthermore, Romil emphasized that young people must play an active role in international diplomacy, including within global Islamic organizations. He expressed hope that this forum would strengthen relations between Indonesia and OIC member countries and have a positive impact on the peace and well-being of Muslims worldwide. According to him, this initiative represents the youth's commitment to strengthening diplomatic relations and building networks across the Islamic world.
“Hopefully, our participation will make an impact and inspire other young people to take on active roles, not just at the national level but also internationally. This also serves as an opportunity for us to apply the knowledge we have gained at UMM,” he concluded. (*/wil/mrh)
