Education development today must be connected to technology that can help educational cooperation between countries from various parts of the world. The European Union Ambassador said this to Indonesia and Brunei Darussalam H.E. Vincent Picket at the University of Muhammadiyah Malang (UMM). This activity was held on February 2, 2023, and was attended by dozens of lecturers and students.
As he is affectionately known, Vincent said that the European Union is currently being intensively partnered with the Global Partnership, especially in the field of education. He also felt interested in the Merdeka Learning Campus Merdeka program carried out by Indonesia. Many European Union member countries are flocking to find information about MBKM to work together.
According to him, cooperation in the world of education provides an opportunity to exchange culture, knowledge, and innovation. They were supported by the cost of education in Europe, which tends to be cheap, thus opening up opportunities for Indonesian students or students to continue their education there. He also praised UMM, which has many business units supporting the development of education in Indonesia.

"I agree and am amazed by the MBKM system in Indonesia so that students can freely make educational choices that suit their passions. We certainly open the widest possible cooperation in this MBKM program, including for UMM," he said.
This Belgian native explained that the European Union also discusses environmental damage management. He said that the European Union is committed to preserving the environment as well as possible. One of them is by using environmentally friendly technology. He again praised the new renewable energy that Indonesia sparked. Even with the EBT at UMM in the form of a micro-hydro power plant.

"The European Union will continue to strive to protect the environment in various ways. Even with the cooperation that we will continue to establish with many regions and countries, "he said.
Meanwhile, Prof. Dr. Syamsul Arifin M.Sc, Vice Rector I of UMM, said that his party had been open with various European countries in the field of education. One of them is the Erasmus Program which has existed at UMM since 2009 until now. From there, many UMM students and lecturers succeeded in continuing their education there.
"I hope this dialogue will open more doors for cooperation and partnership. Especially regarding education which is the gateway to changing the world, including overcoming the climate crisis," said Syamsul. (cdr/haq/wil)
