FACULTY of Agriculture and Husbandry (FPP) University of Muhammadiyah Malang (UMM) was trusted by the Professional Certification Institute (LSP) Agriculture for The Competency Test (TUK). There were six competencies scheme tests that could be certified, namely competency of agriculture, competency of poultry production, competency of cultivation, competency of flower cultivation, competency of nursery and competency of organic agricultural facilitators.
The chairman of TUK FPP UMM, Dr Ir Henik Sukorini MP said that, TUK FPP was the only TUK in Malang which was approved by LSP Agriculture and inaugurated since April 2016. “All of society may join this event especially for the farmers, agricultural entrepreneurs, and food manager,” said Henik in this activity which took place at UMM, Saturday (17/9).
Henik pointed, most of large companies asked the certification which could prove individual’s expertise in the field in this MEA era. Meanwhile, for UMM students, the competency testing was an important provision in order to get into working world because it already had qualification certified.
According to Henik, working world which was globalized demanded people to have an expertise, but not all people had recognition certificate as proof. “For example, when you want to export goods, it will be questioned whether had been certified or not. if not, it means the company does not fit for his standard.” said the Dean Vice III FPP UMM.
For the implementation of testing, said Henik, other than supervised by LSP directly, the competency team of assessor also supervised the test which was during four days. “FPP UMM now has 8 assessor, and we can add more from another universities if it is necessary,” explained by Agrotechnology lecturer.
