Faculty of Engineering UMM Committed to Present Pro-environment Technology

Engineering  Faculty of University of Muhammadiyah Malang (UMM)  committed to realize sustainable development which was not only oriented  for economic aspect, but also social and environmental pillars. it was revealed during the National Seminar on Technology and Engineering (SENTRA) 2017 on Thursday, November 9.

The seminar was attended by 145 speakers consisting of lecturers, researchers and undergraduate and postgraduate students from various universities and institutions.

Engineering Faculty dean of UMM Dr. Ahmad Mubin MT rated that sustainable development has bec ame a common demand. "If  national development is only focused on an economic aspect, then there will be destruction in the face of this earth, therefore it must be changed a concept to be sustainable development," he said.

Ahmad Mubin added that the current generation should not be greedy by spending all resources to fullfill the needs, also to think for next generations start with input-output process within national development.

Engineering Faculty  lecturer of UMM  Dr Iis Siti Aisyah MT as organising activity chief revealed  that this seminar could established synergies and building collaborative research in the future.

"Sentra is also expected to contribute great benefits and able to realize the atmosphere and culture of good research, sustainable and quality related to the development of science and engineering technology," said Lis on the sidelines of the event.

The presence of environment  friendly technology in developing of national industry, said Iis Siti Aisyah was a necessity that required encouragement from various parties including academics, practitioners, industry players and researchers.

This national seminar was opened by Prof. Syamsul Arifin MSi as the Vice Rector I of UMM. Also presented as a keynote speaker from Directorate General of planning and Developing Infrastructure of New, Renewable Energy And Energy Conservation (EBTKE), Noor Arifin Muhammad ST MSIE and guest speaker from University of Malaysia Prof. Dr. Mohd Hanim Osman.
