Kampung Lali Gadget (KLG) is a village that was formed to raise children by reducing the impact of addiction to playing gadgets. The town, located in Bendet Hamlet, Pagerngumbuk Village, Wonoayu, Sidoarjo, has been initiated since 2018. In commemorating national children's day 2022, KLG and practicum students of Communication Science (IKOM) Universitas Muhammadiyah Malang (UMM) held the Endah Lali Gadget Festival in early July.
One of the team members, Udaimatun Nur Farahin, explained that this plan was carried out as a commemoration of National Children's Day. In addition, children can return to playing traditional games that are increasingly forgotten. This activity was attended by 17 elementary schools in Wonoayu, with a total of 126 participants and 62 assistants.
"Through this festival, we want to preserve traditional cultures. This festival includes several activities, namely the making of wong-wongan rice fields by the participants, writing wishes to the president, and exploring Bendet Hamlet," said the student who is familiarly called Farah.

The founder of KLG, Achmad Irfandi, said the same thing. The Endah Lali Gadget Festival brings children closer to traditional cultures. Some cultures they raised were making wong-wongan rice fields using straw, clogs, stilts, and conventional playing tools such as klompen tali.
"We also facilitate children to express their aspirations. This is done through an event of writing wishes on cardboard, and participants will put them on the straw doll they made. Later, we will collect what they wrote down and send a letter to the president on July 23. This is a symbol that aspirations do not only come from adults but also children," said Irfandi.

This activity is beneficial for children and helps the local economy. One of the residents of Bendet village who sells around Kampung Lali Gadget, Nurhayati, admitted that she was happy with the holding of this festival. The festival's existence increases his income more than on normal days. He also hopes that this activity can become an annual plan at KLG. "Not only helping traders like me, but I also hope that the children in the village can have great joy so that they can create a future from the village for Indonesia," he concluded.
Success with the Endah Lali Gadget Festival, Farah does not do everything alone. There are seven other team members participating in this project, namely M. Taqiyyudien Al Rasyid, M. Zaky Nurrahman, Veri Teguh Anugro, Hassan Arie Wibowo, Aldila Putri Uskha, Ghilda Azzahra, and Vivi Yunita Putri. (apg/wil)
