Short Movie of UMM Student Leads National Videography Competition of Islamic Economic

DEPARTMENT of Sharia Economic, Faculty of Islamic Studies (FAI) University of Muhammadiyah Malang (UMM) deserved to be proud following two teams of its delegates that involved in National Videography Competition of Islamic Economic at the V Sharia Economic Week (SEW), on March 31 to April 1, at University of Muhammadiyah Yogyakarta (UMY) that won both winner and runner up at once.

The first  winner had been obtained by a team that consisting of Amilia Aprilia, Fatiqe Ridho and Hilva Kurnia with a film titled "There is always way". While the runner up achieved by a  team that consist of Juliani Pradipta, Daniel Firman Dwi Kurniawati with a film "Success".

Aprilia told that the film that he made about a father who wanted to realize his child’s dream of becoming a doctor. Through the film, April with the team tried to deliver a message about the truth of Islamic financial practice could benefits people, including the poor. "Sharia assurance to ease the people, as both sides can be  benefited," April said.

Message delivery through video can become one way to educate people about Islamic economic transactions. Phenomenon that happen today, April added that not all people know what is Islamic economics and its practices. Most people still think 'sharia' just an artificial. Indeed, its system also different from a conventional bank or an insurance agency.

"Big our hope that people can get used to term of Islamic insurance, so that they can be assisted financially," said the student of the 4th semester. In the film that lasted 4 minutes 57 seconds, a message about the benefits of the existence of Islamic insurance is stressed. According to April, the fulfillment of education to be the most urgent need. The existence of sharia economic to help unaffordable people, especially in fulfilling educational need for their families.

Meanwhile, a movie called "Success" conveyed message that not only Muslims who can save money in Islamic banks. Non-Muslims can also take advantage of Islamic banks. The films explained, that everyone can develop the Islamic financial system regardless of race, ethnicity or religion. (Naz)
