Received a visit from the Association of Indonesian Elementary School Teacher Education Lecturers (PGSD), the Faculty of Teacher Training and Education (FTTE) University of Muhammadiyah Malang (UMM) to introduce a series of Centers of Excellence (CoE). There are six skill classes described along with their advantages. The visit, held on Saturday (4/6), was part of a series of Accreditation Technology Guidance and Workshop activities with LAMDIK, initiated by the Indonesian PGSD Lecturer Association Region 1.
The I Vice Dean, FTTE UMM, Dr. Sugiarti, M.Si., Explained that CoE was an innovative program of UMM to create experts in various fields through superior classes based on study programs. The students who take part in the CoE expertise class and pass the certification from LSP UMM are sure to have good competitiveness—coupled with unique skills that suit the needs of the industry and the world of work (IDUKA).

The White Campus FTTE has opened six skill classes. Started in the Education Consultant Class from the PGSD study program in which there are super teacher, Microsoft educator, and hypoteaching programs. Then there is the Orchid Class from the Biology Study Program, the Digital History Tourism Class from the PPKN Study Program, the Editor's Class, and the Digital Publishing Entrepreneur from the Indonesian Language Study Program. The last two are the Digital Education Animation and Media Skills Class for the Mathematics Study Program and the English for Hospitality Expertise Class for the English Language Study Program.
Furthermore, Sugiarti considered that these skill classes would continue to be developed. Moreover, this program is considered to have good potential and prospects. One of them can be used as a business unit for study programs and universities. Besides that, it can also be a place to prepare skilled workers according to each student's interests. This will open up more job opportunities at IDUKA.
"Until finally, we can produce and produce graduates who have extraordinary competitiveness," he added.

Interestingly, this program can be followed by students across study programs. The goal is to have other skills besides what they have learned in their respective study programs. That way, each student has unique skills that can be offered when they graduate.
Sugiarti also added that the CoE skill class would continue to market demand. That way, participants from UMM and outside could get suitable jobs. Moreover, in the end, they are required to take certification so that when they graduate, they can get a valid and recognized certificate.(cdr/zak/wil)
