As part of its internationalization efforts, the Faculty of Economics and Business at the University of Muhammadiyah Malang (FEB UMM) continues to enhance its quality and recognition. Despite already holding top-tier accreditation and having several study programs accredited by FIBAA, FEB UMM remains committed to expanding its global recognition.  In line with this goal, FEB UMM organized the International Benchmarking Scientific Forum in collaboration with Curtin University, Australia. Under the theme "International Enhancing Program: Fostering FEB to Become a Global Standard Faculty," the event took place in early February.

The event featured Yuningsih, Ph.D., CPA, from Curtin University as the keynote speaker. She shared valuable insights and strategies to support FEB UMM in achieving international standards. Attended by all FEB UMM lecturers, the forum highlighted their strategic role in advancing the faculty’s overarching goal—obtaining accreditation from the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB).

The presentation outlined a series of essential steps required to achieve AACSB accreditation. These include conducting a comprehensive self-evaluation, demonstrating a commitment to strategic management, fostering student success, and making a positive social impact. Additionally, the faculty must promote ethical behavior, cultivate a collaborative academic environment, and address corporate social responsibility issues. Other key requirements include meeting standards related to strategic planning, infrastructure—both physical and virtual—financial resources, as well as faculty and professional staff development.

Meanwhile, the Dean of FEB UMM, Prof. Dr. Idah Zuhroh, M.M., emphasized the importance of enhancing the quality and standards of international education. "Through this forum, we aim to reinforce our strategic efforts toward AACSB accreditation, one of the highest recognitions for business education institutions worldwide," she stated.

This initiative aims not only to expand academic horizons but also to establish a strong international collaboration network. As a benchmarking partner, Curtin University shared its experiences and best practices in achieving international accreditation, particularly in human resource management, enhancing teaching quality, and strengthening globally relevant research.
