To strengthen the movement of University of Muhammadiyah Malang (UMM) in supporting UMM Pasti program, Professional Certification Institution (LSP) on Tuesday (17/4) afternoon signed a mutual agreement and guest lecture with speaker Chairman of National Professional Certification Agency (BNSP), Ir Sumarna F Abdurahman, M.Sc. Taking place at UMM Theater Dome, the event was attended by head of bureau, head of study program, campus structural official and student.
"We have a certain UMM program. First, the assurance that alumni of this campus can pass 3.5 maximum 4 years. Second, UMM ensures that graduated students must work," said Rector of UMM, Drs. H. Fauzan, M.Pd
One of the efforts to follow up the matter is holding of competency certification program proclaimed by UMM through Professional Certification Institute (LSP).
The Rector of UMM stated that the presence of LSP at UMM is to provide facilities in order to strengthen UMM's movement to deliver graduated students to work.
"And the signing of this understanding is the way to make that happen," he said.
Head of BNSP, Ir Sumarna F Abdurahman, M.Sc said, Certification of competence itself is basically the core program conducted by BNSP. This certification is a process of giving a recognition control that is done systematically and objectively through competency test that refers to the standard of Indonesian national competence.
BNSP in the process of conducting this test licensed several LSPs with reference to ISO / IEC 17024: 2012 (2003). LSP UMM belongs to LSP 1 category that is, LSP organized by company / organization and educational institution. The certification is the way to get the recognition of competence that can be used to improve career ladder, both in the national and international sphere.
"I am very optimistic that UMM in the future will be able to run in accordance with the philosophy of the Sun, namely to provide lighting in the midst of darkness, especially in the field of manpower," said Ir.Sumarna.
