As a part of ASEAN countries, Thailand continues to establish and open cooperation with neighboring countries. Being one of the opening avenues, the Legislative Council of Thailand's Education and Sports Commission came to University of Muhammadiyah Malang (UMM) at a Working Visit (5/8).
In the middle of the event, both parties discussed about the continuation of cooperation between UMM and Thailand. During the opening session of the discussion, First Deputy of the Education and Sports Commission, Charlermchai Boonyaleepun, gave a review on how education can answer the challenges of Industry 4.0.
"Education is the best bridge to prepare human resources, answering the industrial era. I believe this campus has a special program for it," he explained.
Responding to the statement, UMM Rector, Fauzan, explained various programs in UMM that had been interacted in various student activities.
"We are well aware of how the industry currently demands graduate profiles that meet the industrial revolution, so we have prepared many programs for it," he explained.
Meanwhile, Fauzan also expressed his hope to be able to cooperate with Thailand in the field of Agriculture. He said that currently Thailand could become one of the agricultural center in ASEAN region.
"We are currently actively making a lot of cooperation with Thai in the agricultural field," he added.
In addition to this event, both parties agreed to further formulate cooperation in the field of providing scholarships for Indonesian students to study in Thailand.
"I say a lot of thanks to UMM which has provided many scholarships. We hope there will be further discussion to provide scholarships for Thai students," explained Tuang Untachai, Chairman of the Education and Sports Commission. (ard)
