UMM Strengthens the Quality of Its Human Resources by Holding the Selection of the Best Academicians

To strengthen the quality of its academic community, the University of Muhammadiyah Malang (UMM) held a lecturer, teaching staff, and best student selection. The selection was held on April 30th at the Rayz Hotel UMM. Several judges with expertise and qualified abilities were present to assess the candidates.

Vice Chancellor V of UMM for AIK and HR Development, Prof. Dr. Tri Sulistyaningsih, M.Si., explained that the real goal is to build the performance of lecturers and staff in a sustainable manner. In addition, it also dedicates itself to improving competence and service on an ongoing basis.

There are several assessments given in the selection. The assessment for outstanding lecturers includes the tri dharma, which is research, teaching, and service. International works and services that provide benefits to the community based on the scientific area are also a special assessment.

“The lecturer is able to produce innovations that can really be felt and utilized by the community. In addition, activeness in the Muhammadiyah association also provides a plus. Whether it's being active in management or mobilizing Muhammadiyah development,” added Tri, his nickname.

Similar assessments are also given to lecturers or employees. The assessment of how they can maximize their main performance, monthly performance, and others. Likewise with innovation and how they can carry out work efficiently. “Hopefully, UMM academicians can continue to improve their quality. Competing in kindness and being able to actively participate in Muhammadiyah,” she said.

Meanwhile, UMM Rector Prof. Dr. Nazaruddin Malik, M.Si., said there are two things that affect the development of human resources (HR). First, the institution's efforts to encourage human resources through the system to be able to improve their skills, competencies, and knowledge. In addition, there need to be achievements that are easily identified, have indicators, and are measurable. Second, increasing skills and work competencies through training and training.

“Speaking of learning in human resource strategy, I believe that building ecosystems and systems that encourage people to work at their best is a good thing. Let us bring out the uniqueness of UMM by practicing Islamic association. Hopefully, this will be a good step that is blessed by Allah SWT.
