The Governor of East Java Khofifah Indar Parawansa was present at the mass vaccination event held at the University of Muhammadiyah Malang (UMM) on Monday (2/8). She was accompanied by Dr. Fauzan, M.Pd as the rector of the White Campus and Drs. Malang Mayor Sutiaji, Khofifah saw the progress of patients being treated at the UMM Covid Hospital (RS). She also conveyed related to particular vaccines for the disabled and health human resources (HR).
Before going to the vaccination location, the governor of East Java visited UMM Hospital first. She took the time to greet the covid patients undergoing treatment at the UMM Hospital Infection and Treatment Installation. In addition, they also have a dialogue and see the progress of the existing patients.
Then, when at Dome, Khofifah expressed her appreciation for the UMM White Campus effort. She considered that UMM Hospital was an inclusive hospital from various perspectives. "I can say that because since March last year, I have been like a hospital manager in East Java," she said.
Furthermore, she said that only a handful of hospitals provide cesarean services for confirmed positive patients. Not many have prepared a place of delivery for pregnant women who have been confirmed to have Covid-19. There are not many who provide hemodialysis services for them. "However, who can find these three services at the University of Muhammadiyah Malang Hospital," she added.
Khofifah also wants other hospitals to follow in the footsteps of the UMM Hospital, which is to provide delivery services for those who are confirmed positive for Covid-19. According to him, setting up the service is not a simple thing. So she appreciated UMM Hospital because it had carried out an extraordinary responsibility so far.
Next, the inclusiveness of UMM Hospital can also be seen from the patient's domicile. During her visit, Khofifah had a dialogue with several patients whose domicile was not only Malang. According to him, people must have hope to get good health services. "And one of the service providers is UMM Hospital that I visited earlier," she said.
She said that Malang had an extraordinary passion for getting vaccines. The acceleration process has become a necessity, and UMM is the party that has done it many times. "When coordinating with the UMM Chancellor yesterday, we also planned to send UMM health workers to various schools to provide services," continued Khofifah.
Khofifah also delivered vaccinations for people with disabilities and healthy human resources. The type given is also different from the others. People with disabilities aged 18 years and over will be given the Sinopharm vaccine, while Health Human Resources will provide the Moderna vaccine for the third vaccination. "UMM is also the party that started to give these two types of vaccines. Even Malang is the first area to use Moderna for human health resources and Sinopharm for people with disabilities," said Khofifah.
Meanwhile, Fauzan expressed his gratitude to the Governor of East Java, who was willing to attend and review the implementation of the third day of vaccination at UMM. He said that this event was an initiative from the Governor of East Java in collaboration with the Malang City Government, Malang Regency Government, and UMM. "This vaccination is an acceleration effort in accelerating, especially for the people of Greater Malang. However, it is possible for people outside Malang who are domiciled and have an interest in Malang," he said.
Finally, Fauzan also thanked the provincial government for donating beds for the UMM Covid Hospital. This certainly has a positive impact on service to the community. "This Covid hospital has not been inaugurated, but the demands of the conditions forced us to use it immediately, and Alhamdulillah it went well," he concluded. (wil)
