Pesmaba UMM 2019 Emotional Closing by Mendikbud |
“My heart is touched after seeing all of you,” said the Minister of Education and Culture Republic Indonesia (Mendikbud RI) Prof. Dr. Muhadjir Effendy, MAP. while opening the public lecture in the New Students Introduction to Study (Pesmaba) closing event University of Muhammadiyah Malang (UMM).
Muhadjir, who was also the Vice Chairman of UMM Daily Board of Trustees, said that UMM remained as strong as ever. "I came here to witness more than seven thousand new students who looked at their future with optimism and confidence," said Muhadjir, Thursday (5/9).

Muhadjir also wanted to see UMM students who will inherit the tradition of having strong character, hard work, look forward to the future with optimism, and that's all of you,"said Muhadjir, greeted by the applause ofthe new students of the White Campus of UMM who filled the UMM Dome Hall.
"Don't hesitate anymore. This is your right choice. UMM is your most appropriate choice. So from now on, in your blood, UMM blood will flow. In your heartbeat, there is a UMM heartbeat. In your life, now there is UMM life," he said enthusiastically.

Minister Muhadjir then spontaneously composed the lyrics of the song Sempurna by Andra and the Backbond, by replacing the diction of 'you' with 'UMM'. While accompanied by impromptu music, Minister Muhadjir then sing, “UMM lah hidupku, lengkapi diriku. UMM, kau begitu sempurna,” his song draw the students applause.
With the end of the public lecture by the Indonesian Minister of Education and Culture Muhadjir, the entire series of UMM Pesmaba 2019 followed by 7611 new students was ended.
