Proud news came from the University of Muhammadiyah Malang (UMM). Thanks to his commitment and hard work, UMM Infokom Public Relations managed to get the best value in the 2022 Public Relations Diktiristek (AHD) Award for private universities (PTS) in East Java. The event was organized by the Regional Higher Education Service Institution (LLDIKTI) VII East Java last September, and the winner was announced in October 2022.
Head of UMM Infokom Public Relations, M. Isnaini, M.Pd., said that the branding effort carried out by UMM was based on well-targeted planning. Apart from aiming to brand the White Campus, this effort is also a way to support the Merdeka Learning Campus Merdeka (MBKM) program. Moreover, the program is a top priority of the Ministry of Education, Culture, Research, and Technology (Kemendikbud-ristekdikti).

"Recently, our branding strategies and objects have undergone many adjustments. One of them is because of the Center of Excellence (CoE) program developed by UMM, which is closely related to a real implementation of the government's MBKM," said the Indonesian language education lecturer.

Several criteria are assessed in this competition: content and design, management strategy, engagement, variety of social media, and completeness of public relations reports. Regarding structure, Krisna, his nickname, explained that UMM has a uniqueness in design and content. It does not immediately make netizens know that the related content is the work of Kampus Putih.
The management strategy is also an aspect that Krisna always pays attention to. Thanks to that, UMM Infokom Public Relations successfully got many followers. For example, UMM's Instagram followers reached more than 108,000 followers. Even with the White Campus TikTok account, which has more than 65,000 followers, and Youtube, which has 72,000 subscribers.
"Not only in numbers, but engagement on each social media is also high because we produce content regularly. Especially content that is novel and interesting," he added.
The lecturer from Lombok also said that all efforts are incomplete if no public relations report is organized. According to him, starting from the report, his team could provide policies and strategies to present the best and latest information about UMM White Campus.
"This achievement is indeed proud, but also an encouragement to be able to achieve other prestigious achievements because it is not easy to be complacent. Moreover, we will represent East Java in a similar event at the national level. Hopefully, we can give the best results for UMM and LLDIKTI Region VII," he hoped. (cdr/wil)
