To produce graduates ready to face job competition, the University of Muhammadiyah Malang continues to expand its international cooperation. Most recently, Vocational UMM invited the Japan Association for Construction (JAC) on Wednesday (10/5) to provide a way for graduates to be able to work in the cherry country. JAC is also interested in the Center for Excellence (CoE) developed by White Campus because it is considered a strategic innovation in human resources (HR).
General Manager of Project Department JAC Yasuhito Morishima explained that his visit to UMM was to look for human resources who were ready to come and work in Japan. He considered that the White Campus could provide qualified human resources, one of which was through the existing CoE. In this case, the programs are related to construction.
Morishima also explained that there are 46 associations under the auspices of JAC. They are registered associations in the infrastructure, transportation, concrete pump, and other sectors. JAC is the only Japanese company in the construction sector that can bring in foreign workers.

“In Japan, there are 33 sub-sectors of construction work. We will also continue looking for partners who can produce graduates ready to work. And I think UMM is one of them. Later, the graduates will take part in the Japanese learning process first, then also the technical construction skills so that the communication and skill aspects are both honed,” he added.
Interestingly, UMM and JAC did not only train and hone skills. Indonesian human resources can fill thousands of job vacancies in Japan, even with the White Campus. There are more than 3800 seats up for grabs and prepared for talented Indonesian human resources. “I think the work ethic of Indonesians is very high. Especially if it is accompanied by good Japanese language skills and good performance, it will give exciting results, “he said.
Meanwhile, the arrival of JAC representatives to Indonesia was explicitly aimed at visiting UMM. It is inseparable from the success of the training center, capable of hundreds of participants. Even consistently dispatching human resources to Japan which works in various fields.

On the other hand, Rector of UMM, Dr. Fauzan, M.Pd., assessed that this construction-related cooperation program is very relevant to the CoE owned by the White Campus. CoE aims to ensure students have specific expertise and expertise. So, according to him, this will be a complementary collaboration. One party can produce graduates with appropriate abilities, while the other is lucky because they get good human resources for their company.
"We have a land area of fifteen hectares which is now being developed as a CoE center. There are more than 40 CoEs that are already running, pioneered, and even just launched. I think our collaboration with JAC can provide maximum results and progress for CoE development," added the Rector from Kediri. (cdr/*/wil)
