"Although Malaysia is a neighboring country, I learned a lot about the learning culture, such as the education system, psychological perspectives on various issues, and approaches to counseling problems. This also became an interesting cultural difference to explore further," said the Psychology graduate candidate.
Moving to the blue continent of Europe, the man from Lumajang successfully participated in a work internship program at the Embassy in Prague, Czech Republic, for several months. There, he gained valuable insights into international diplomacy between countries. Interestingly, he not only studied in his field of expertise but also had the opportunity to experience various diplomatic attaché positions, including political attaché, cultural attaché, and economic attaché. Through these experiences, he claimed to have undergone multiple changes, both personally, expanding his worldview, and academically.
"Not only academically, but I also gained many connections during my time in Prague. One of the highlights was the opportunity to communicate and interact directly with various Indonesian diplomatic figures, such as members of the Indonesian National Parliament (DPRD RI), the Provincial Parliament of Sumatra, and many ambassadors from around the world who collaborated with the Czech Republic. This also included several associations from Indonesia working with the tourism sector there," he added.
He expressed being impressed and deeply appreciative of the cultural differences of each country he had visited. Based on his experiences, the countries he visited placed great importance on mental health well-being, as well as flexibility and discipline in various matters.
