In a few days, we will start the blessed month of Ramadan. In welcoming that, the University of Muhammadiyah Malang (UMM) held a da'wah of the Muhammadiyah Association Leaders on March 6th. This da'wah had the theme 'Ramadan Ceria: Spirit of Strengthening Togetherness among Others' which was presented directly by the Chairperson of the Central Leadership of Aisyiyah, Dr. apt. Salmah Orbayyinah, M. Kes.
According to Salmah, Ramadan should be welcomed with cheerfulness, sincerity, welcomingness, and longing, as we welcome our beloved. Ramadan is the most special month because Allah gives all kinds of mercy in this month. Prayers are answered, sins are forgiven, goodness is accepted, and there is a sense of longing for heaven.

"This blessed month also embodies human values, values of success in life, values of high devotion, social values, and many other values that can lead us to be successful in life in the world," said Salmah.
Furthermore, he explained that fasting is not only an activity to endure thirst and hunger, but also how we can control our lust, anger, and develop patience. Thus, there should be some preparation to welcome the holy month. Starting with maintaining health in order to be able to perform a series of activities for a whole month. Then, we should do istighfar, asking Allah for forgiveness for all the sins we have committed, whether intentionally or unintentionally. This way, by the time Ramadan comes, we are already in a clean state.
"Then, make a plan of activities that must be done. By doing so, everything can run effectively. Don't forget to prepare enough infaq funds," she explained.
Salmah also emphasized the importance of reading the Quran during Ramadan. Moreover, the Quran was also delivered in that month. She not only encouraged us to read the Quran more but also to understand and practice it in our daily lives.
