Faculty of Engineering, University of Muhammadiyah Malang (UMM) sends its best team to compete in a competition organized by the Pusat Prestasi Nasional (Puspresnas) (trans: National Achievement Center) . Through Mechatronics, the Lembaga Semi Otonom (LSO) (trans: Semi Autonomous Organization) at Faculty of Engineering UMM, they are ready to compete in the Kontes Mobil Hemat Energi (KMHE) (trans: Energy Efficient Car Competition) and the Kontes Kapal Cepat Tak Berawak Nasional (KKCTBN) (trans: National Unmanned Fast Boat Contest). The competition was held at the University of Indonesia (UI) on October 22nd to November 03rd, 2023.
In this event, the UMM team will compete with various top campuses throughout the nation. There are UI, ITS, UGM, Undip, UB and other campuses. The Mechatronic team will participate in two race categories in each contest. For KMHE, they compete in the proto ethanol and urban gasoline categories. While KKCTBN competes in the electric remote control and fuel engine remote control categories.

In the moment of departure, UMM Vice Chancellor III Dr. Nur Subeki, ST. MT. express the highest appreciation to all parties involved, starting from students, lecturers, and sponsors. The team's departure is a real proof of the success of the FT UMM curriculum which does not only provide theory. But students can also practically implement it into an invention and tool. Moreover, it is competed in national and international championships.
" It must be appreciated, especially when qualifying to win the championship. The achievements will be very meaningful for UMM. Give your best and try hard," he explained.
Furthermore, he also emphasized that UMM is always ready to provide a forum and facilities for students who want to show off in various fields of academic and non-academic. "Students can participate in any competition and of course we will fully support it," said Eki, his nickname.

On the other hand, one of the students from the KKCTBN Team, Abi Mufid Octavio, emphasized that he and the team were one hundred percent ready. This readiness is proven by practicing three times a day by utilizing the campus lake and the lake in the UMM recreation park. In addition, they also make trial and error efforts to get the maximum efficiency and performance of the ship's engine.
"We are ready to compete in the competition. We have maximized our training and also done a lot of research. Starting from improving the performance of the engine and the arena that will be used for the match. We are certainly optimistic that we can win the competition," he concluded. (Faq/Wil/Put)
